Masks for spraying the national insignia and markings of the Mitsubishi Ki-51 Sonia in 1:72 scale from the maker Dead Design. A sprayed hinomaru with no silvering, which settles into the engraved detail of a small scale too.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of die-cut masking templates for spraying the Japanese national insignia (hinomaru) and markings on a model of the light attack and reconnaissance aircraft Mitsubishi Ki-51 in 1:72 scale. It is precisely in a small scale that decals cause the most trouble - they silver and settle badly into the engraving. A sprayed insignia has none of these difficulties and looks like a part of the camouflage, which is what it really is.
The Mitsubishi Ki-51, Sonia by the Allied designation, was a light attack and reconnaissance aircraft of the Japanese army. The simple and durable two-seat machine operated from field airfields all over southeast Asia and China and lasted in service throughout the Second World War. The machines often carried heavily worn camouflage - and sprayed markings suit such weathering far better than a decal.
Spray the insignia onto a cured and degreased surface. Place the templates according to the documentation for the machine you have chosen, press the edges down carefully and apply the red in light layers; on dark green a light undercoat will help. Once the masks are off, the insignia can be scuffed, lightened and weathered together with the rest of the airframe - exactly as on the real machines.
A masking accessory - the kit, the paints and the decals are not included in the package.
