Peewit Northrop N-3PB 1:72 — painting masks

A set of self-adhesive painting masks made of thin washi (kabuki) tape from the Czech manufacturer Peewit. It serves for fast and clean masking of the canopy glazing and the wheels when spraying with an airbrush or with a brush. The masks follow the shape of the part well, they hold along the engraved edges and they leave no adhesive residue when removed. They are cut to fit a specific kit of the N-3PB floatplane in 1:72 scale.

The real subject

The Northrop N-3PB Nomad was an American float patrol and bomber aircraft of the early part of the Second World War. The machines were ordered by Norway and they were flown by Norwegian crews operating from Iceland on patrol and convoy escort duties in the North Atlantic.

Use

• Clean and degrease the glazing, transfer the mask with tweezers and press it down along the cockpit frames.
• Spray the paint in thin coats so that it does not run under the edge of the mask.
• Remove the masks shortly after the paint has dried, while the coat is still flexible.
• You can use the circular masks to paint the tires and the wheel centers cleanly.

Who the set is for

For modelers who want sharp paint transitions on the canopy and the wheels without the lengthy cutting of tape. The set saves time and improves the cleanliness of the finished paintwork.

These are painting masks, not a model. The paints, the glue and the kit are not included in the package.
