N1K1-Ja George 1:72 — a set of self-adhesive Eduard painting masks in yellow kabuki paper for clean masking of the glazing and the wheels of a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A precisely cut set of self-adhesive masks from the Czech manufacturer Eduard for a plastic model of the Japanese Kawanishi N1K1-Ja Shiden fighter, Allied code name George, in 1:72 scale. The masks in fine Japanese kabuki paper hold well, follow curved surfaces and leave no adhesive when taken off. They cover the cockpit glazing and the clear parts so that after spraying only the frames remain sharply outlined. The set usually also contains wheel masks for painting the tire and the rim separately.
The Kawanishi N1K1-Ja Shiden was a Japanese land-based fighter of the closing period of the Second World War, derived from a floatplane fighter. It was powered by a potent radial engine and armed with cannon in the wings. It was among the best Japanese fighters of its day and could meet Allied machines on equal terms.
Lift the mask off the sheet with a sharp blade or tweezers, lay it on the part and press it down all round. Lay the paint on in thin layers so that it does not creep under the edge. Take the masks off while the finish is fresh. On cockpit frames it works well to spray the interior color first and the airframe color afterwards.
This is an accessory, not a model. The kit itself, paints and glue are not included in the package.
