This product is a decal sheet in 1:72 scale, that is an accessory for a plastic kit. The British manufacturer Xtradecal divides larger subjects into several sheets, and this is the second part of a series devoted to the late Super Sabre versions with the emphasis on the two-seat variant. The designation of the second part is a distinguishing detail. The particular schemes and their number are given on the packaging and in the instructions supplied with the sheet.
The two-seat F-100F came about by lengthening the fuselage of the single-seat D version and adding a second seat in tandem. It served for converting pilots, but thanks to its retained armament and load capacity it was usable for combat duties and for specialized roles calling for a second crew member. The D version is the definitive single-seat fighter-bomber with a larger vertical tail. Both versions are told apart by the typical oval air intake in the nose.
With thin sheets the trimming is what decides. Cut the carrier film off as close to the print as possible, ideally with a new scalpel blade against a hard surface. The narrower the transparent margin, the less the edge shows through it once dry and the smaller the risk of a reflection on a metal surface. With large markings it is sometimes better to divide the decal with a cut into two pieces and settle them separately than to force it over a raised detail.
A decal sheet is an accessory. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
