The part one designation means that this is the opening installment of a series; part two is a separate item with different content. The aircraft model, paints and clear coats are not included in the package. The specific machines depicted and their units are given on the packaging of the sheet and in the enclosed instructions.
The North American FJ-3 Fury is a carrier fighter of the US Navy derived from the land-based F-86 Sabre but adapted for operation from aircraft carriers. Compared with the Sabre it has folding wings, strengthened landing gear, an arrestor hook and a reworked nose with a larger air intake, because it received a different, bulkier turbojet. It entered service with combat squadrons in the mid-1950s. A later modification allowed it to carry short-range guided missiles. In 1962 the type was redesignated into a new series as part of a unified designation system, so it appears in sources under two different codes.
The Fury has a slim, markedly round fuselage, and decals on it have to follow a double curvature. A dry decal will not manage that and will lift at the edges. The procedure that works: seat the decal, blot off the excess water, let the area set for a while and then apply decal softener. If you need more help, the surface can be warmed after drying with a hair dryer on a low setting from a safe distance, as the film softens and settles better. Never blow hot air from close up, because the plastic deforms before the decal does.
The package contains only the decal sheet. The kit, paints and glue are not included.
