This photo-etch by the Czech manufacturer Eduard is an aftermarket accessory for refining a model of the P-51B/C Mustang fighter in 1:72 scale. These are the early versions of the Mustang with a framed canopy. It is not an airplane model but a set of photo-etched parts for raising the detail.
The photo-etched parts typically refine the cockpit, the instrument fit, the belts and small details of the airframe and landing gear. The model thereby gains a more faithful and finer surface that stands out once painted. The set is intended for a plastic kit of the Mustang B/C in this scale.
Cut the parts out with a sharp knife, form the bends with a bending tool and glue them with super glue. Apply a primer to the brass before painting; fit the fine parts as the build progresses and check the position dry.
An accessory for the more advanced; photo-etched parts are not a substitute for a kit and are glued with super glue.
