The sheet suits modelers who want a different form for their model from the one the basic kit package offers. The particular machines and units that the sheet covers are given on the packaging and in the instructions supplied; compare what the manufacturer gives on the packaging before buying, so that you get the markings you are planning.
The T-28 Trojan was an American trainer with a radial engine and a nose gear, brought into service in the 1950s as a successor to older trainers with a tailwheel. A tandem cockpit with a good view, a robust structure and easy handling made it an aircraft suited to basic and advanced training alike. The T-28B version was intended for naval aviation, and the T-28C version received in addition a strengthened structure and an arrestor hook for practicing carrier landings, so it served to train carrier pilots. Trainers are commonly built in striking color schemes: large warning areas and bands served to make the aircraft easy to see in the air and on the ground.
With trainers one often works with large-area decals, wide bands and extensive fields of color that take the place of painting. These call for a different procedure from small lettering. Soak a large film longer, but above all carry it with support: slide a scalpel or a thin spatula underneath it so that it does not fold over halfway. Put a little water on the place beforehand so that the decal can be moved, and press the bubbles out with a damp cloth from the center toward the edges. Over the curve of the leading edge and the engine cowling, a stronger softener and patience help: lay the coat on, wait and do not touch it. The order relative to the varnish is crucial: decals belong on a gloss base, the weathering comes only after them and the unifying varnish last, otherwise the edge of the film will not be hidden.
This is an accessory for a model. The sheet contains neither a kit, paints nor glue.
