An injection-molded plastic kit of the German Opel Blitz medium truck in 1:72 scale from the Italian brand Italeri. The model captures the classic cargo version with a cab and a load bed, that is, the most common form used to carry troops and supplies. The exact contents and the marking options of a particular boxing are given in the instructions in the box.
The Opel Blitz was a three-ton truck that became one of the most widespread means of transport of the German army in the Second World War. It was built in many tens of thousands and was committed on every front. The vehicle was rugged, easy to repair and had decent cross-country manners, which made it an invaluable mainstay of supply both on the Eastern Front and in North Africa. Besides the basic flatbed version, tanker, workshop, ambulance and other special bodies were built on its chassis, and it also served as the chassis for a wide range of special equipment.
On a wheeled vehicle, take care to seat the axles properly and to line the wheels up so that the model stands straight. Paint the cab and any tilt or cargo bed while you can still reach them, before closing them up. Liven up the base coat of Dunkelgelb or gray with shading, and bring out the edges and the boards of the bed with drybrushing. Dust and mud pigments on the wheels, fenders and lower areas will give the vehicle a used, front-line look.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
