This kit from the Ukrainian maker UM represents the Soviet OT-34/76 flamethrower tank in 1:72 scale. It is an injection-molded plastic model with photo-etched parts added; it is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The OT-34 was based on the T-34 medium tank and came about by converting it into a flamethrower vehicle. In place of the hull machine gun it received a built-in flamethrower, while keeping its main armament, the 76.2 mm F-34 gun. That meant it differed only minimally from an ordinary T-34 on the outside and could work alongside ordinary tanks without giving its role away. Flamethrower tanks were used against fortified positions and in fighting in built-up areas.
Assemble and clean up the running gear before you close the hull. Glue the plastic parts with liquid modeling cement and the fine photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue. Bring the base coat to life with a dark wash in the recesses and dust and mud pigments on the running gear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
