A set of photo-etched metal parts for refining a model of the P-51D Mustang fighter in 1:72 scale. It replaces the small elements that in plastic are necessarily coarser.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of photo-etched parts intended to refine a model of the P-51D Mustang fighter in 1:72 scale. Photo-etch is a thin metal sheet with an etched pattern, thanks to which the elements have a thickness close to reality where injection-molded plastic necessarily stays coarser. Typically these are the parts that are hard to mold in plastic on a model: grilles, loops, levers, buckles and the small faces of instruments.
The P-51D Mustang was an American fighter of the end of the Second World War and one of the best-known designs of its day. The D version received a teardrop canopy with a view in every direction and heavier armament in the wings. It was powered by the V12 Merlin engine, built under license in the USA, thanks to which the aircraft kept its performance at high altitude and could escort bomber formations all the way to the target. In 1:72 scale it is a popular subject and fine metal detail shows to advantage on it.
For a modeler who can already handle small parts and wants to take a model beyond the level of a straight-from-the-box build. Working with photo-etch calls for tweezers, a sharp knife and a steady hand, but the reward is visible at first glance. The set is cut for a particular kit, so compare the parts with your model before building and follow the manufacturer's instructions.
What is supplied is a set of photo-etched parts. The model, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
