Responsibility details are not available.
A set of die-cut self-adhesive masks from the Czech manufacturer Eduard. It is used when finishing a model to mask the glazed and sharply bounded areas, so that a clean edge appears without cutting tape by hand. Let us be clear about the kind of product right at the start: these are stencils of masking paper. It is not a photo-etched set with metal parts, nor the model itself — that has to be bought separately.
The Polikarpov U-2 was a biplane of mixed construction that first flew at the end of the 1920s and was originally created as a trainer. Thanks to its simplicity, its modest operating demands and its ability to operate from short unprepared strips, it became a universal type for liaison, courier, ambulance and observation duties. After the death of its designer in 1944 the type was redesignated Po-2. The designation VS refers to the military production series. The aircraft was built in very large numbers and stayed in service long after the end of the war.
On a biplane in a small scale the individual masks are tiny, so work with sharp tweezers and over a surface from which a part is easy to pick up. Degrease the area before applying them. Lay the mask on dry, line it up and only then press the edges down; on curved frames work in short sections so that the paper is not deformed. Do not throw the remains of the sheet away — they come in useful for covering wheels, strut roots or small openings. Apply the paint in several thin coats and remove the mask while the finish is still fresh. The masks are cut for a particular kit of this type, so check compatibility with the model you are building.
This is an accessory for a model, not a kit. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
