The 1:72 RAF 111 Squadron History 1918 - 2011 decal sheet from Xtradecal charts the markings of No. 111 Squadron RAF from its beginnings to the end of its activity.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a decal sheet in 1:72 scale from the British brand Xtradecal, that is an accessory for a kit. It belongs to a line of squadron sheets that follow one unit of the Royal Air Force across the period given in the name. Which types of aircraft and how many schemes the sheet covers is given on the packaging and in the instructions supplied with the sheet.
Over the course of its existence No. 111 Squadron RAF passed through both the propeller and the jet era and ended its activity in 2011. In the 1950s the unit was known as a user of Hawker Hunter aircraft and as the parent squadron of the display team called the Black Arrows, which showed in an all-black finish with striking contrasting markings. Squadron sheets of this kind therefore usually offer a combination of eye-catching and ordinary service schemes.
Squadron sheets often contain large-area items, for example bands across the fuselage or markings on the vertical tail. Such decals cannot be carried through the air. Let the decal slide from the paper straight into place by bringing the paper edge-on to the model and pushing the marking off it with a brush. Hold a large area at two points and make sure a layer of water stays under it until it settles. Only then press the surplus out from the center.
A decal sheet is an accessory. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
