The kit captures the self-propelled launch vehicle of the 9K79 Tochka tactical ballistic missile system, in the NATO reporting name SS-21 Scarab. Built on a wheeled amphibious chassis, the model is made up of several dozen injection-molded plastic parts on a set of sprues and offers rubber tires. The result is a faithful model of modern missile equipment.
The Tochka is a Soviet mobile short-range missile system developed as a successor to older artillery rockets. The missile is transported and launched from a single amphibious wheeled vehicle that combines the launcher with high cross-country mobility. The system entered service in the 1970s and has remained in active use to this day.
Assemble and finish the chassis and the launch mechanism before closing up the superstructure. Use liquid cement for plastic. We recommend a base of primer, painting with an airbrush and weathering built up with washes and pigments for dust effects. Degrease the rubber tires before gluing.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
