This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:72 scale from the Ukrainian maker UM (Unimodels) captures the German Flakpanzer 38(t) self-propelled anti-aircraft tank, designated Sd.Kfz. 140. The set usually holds photo-etched parts and plastic tracks built up by the link-and-length method.
The Flakpanzer 38(t) was created on a chassis derived from the Czechoslovak LT vz. 38 (Panzer 38(t)). It carried a 20 mm Flak 38 anti-aircraft gun in an open superstructure with folding side plates, which gave the crew a wide traverse when firing. The vehicle was produced in the winter of 1943 to 1944 and served to protect units against low-flying aircraft.
Assemble the running gear and the fighting compartment with the gun before you close the hull; the folding side plates can be shown either raised or folded down. Glue the plastic with liquid cement and the photo-etch with cyanoacrylate glue. We recommend an airbrush over a primer and weathering with washes and pigments on the chassis.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
