A pig suspended on a pulley in 1:72 scale is a small diorama figure from the Czech manufacturer CMK. It will complete farmyard, rear-area and butcher's scenes beside models in the same scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The casting represents a slaughtered pig suspended on a pulley. The 1:72 scale is the most widespread aircraft scale and is used for figures and small machinery as well, so the accessory fits most smaller dioramas. In a scene it is not meant to be the main model but a detail that gives it a story and conviction.
A suspended pig is a classic subject for views of a farmyard, a field kitchen, a supply area or a butcher's shop. In a diorama it works as an accent in height: it hangs above the ground, so it lifts the viewer's eye from the base to a beam, to the frame of a gateway or to a farm cart. It combines well with figures of soldiers and of civilians in the same scale.
First wash the casting in lukewarm water with dish soap so that the surface takes the paint. Cut the casting block off with a sharp knife or a fine saw rather than with nippers, and protect your breathing while sanding. It is glued with super glue; cement for plastic does not work here. In 1:72 scale work with fine contrast, because exaggerated shadows break a small subject up. Paint over a thin base, use a warm base for the skin and shadows from a thin wash. Pick the pulley and the rope out with dry brushing, otherwise they will disappear in the scene.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and calls for cleaning up and painting. Paints, glue and a base are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
