Aires Spitfire Mk.IX - resin control surfaces (late) 1:72 with fine ribbing and fabric covering for a more convincing model.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is not an aircraft model but a set of resin replacement parts from Aires with which, in 1:72 scale, you replace the control surfaces on a kit of the Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IX fighter. The late version matches the later form of these surfaces. The castings have finely modeled ribbing and fabric covering of the kind injection-molded plastic usually cannot manage.
The Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IX was among the most successful versions of the legendary British fighter. A more powerful two-stage Rolls-Royce Merlin engine gave it back the edge over its opponents of the day, and so the Mk.IX was built in large numbers and served on most fronts of the Second World War.
Wash the parts in lukewarm water with detergent so that any mold release agent disappears. Separate them from the casting blocks by cutting, not by snapping, and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate); cement for plastic does not bond resin. Wear respiratory protection while sanding. A deflected rudder and control surfaces give a finished model a natural sense of movement.
It is supplied as an unpainted set of resin parts. Paints, glue and the base model are not included in the package.
