Spitfire PR.XIX glazing and wheel masks (1:72) — pre-cut self-adhesive Eduard painting masks for accurate spraying of the cockpit frames and the wheels of the photo-reconnaissance aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of pre-cut self-adhesive painting masks from Eduard in 1:72 scale for a model of the photo-reconnaissance Spitfire PR.XIX. It is not a kit and it is not a model — these are precisely pre-cut masks made of thin masking tape that cling to the cockpit glazing and to the landing gear wheels. With them you spray the canopy frames and the centers of the rims with a sharp edge, without laborious cutting and sticking of ordinary tape.
The Supermarine Spitfire PR.XIX was a British photo-reconnaissance aircraft of the closing phase of the Second World War, powered by the powerful Griffon engine. It was unarmed and relied on its high speed and ceiling, which let it escape enemy fighters on reconnaissance sorties. It was among the highest-performing reconnaissance variants of the Spitfire.
Spray the cockpit frame shade first, then once it is dry lay the masks on the glazing and spray over them in the fuselage color. The wheel masks hold the center of the rim while the tires are sprayed. The thin tape adapts to the curve of the canopy and leaves a clean edge. For the best adhesion, degrease the surface before applying, remove any dust and press the masks down with a soft tool so that paint cannot bleed under the edge.
This is a masking set. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
