Photo-etched metal parts in 1:72 scale for a model of the Short Stirling Mk. III bomber, carried under the manufacturer's part number 73776. The extent of the set is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Short Stirling was the first British four-engine heavy bomber to reach front-line service in the Second World War. Its hallmark was an unusually tall landing gear, on which the machine stood noticeably nose-up on the ground. Its wing, however, would not let it climb as high as the later British four-engine types, so the Stirlings gradually moved to tasks where altitude was not called for: towing gliders, dropping paratroopers and transport flights. The Mk. III is a later production version.
These are photo-etched metal parts in 1:72 scale carried under the manufacturer's part number 73776. Thin sheet metal allows what injection-molded plastic cannot manage: a genuinely thin part edge, open grilles, fine brackets and loops, that is details which on a kit are usually only suggested by engraving. Which parts of the model the set covers and which kit it is tuned to are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Separate the parts with a sharp blade on a hard surface, not by twisting, otherwise the edge bends and leaves a burr behind. Make the folds along the engraved score lines, ideally in a photo-etch bender or between two blades, and the edge will come out straight. You will join the metal with cyanoacrylate glue applied in minute drops; solvent cement for plastic will not hold on it. Before painting, wash and degrease the parts and apply a primer intended for metal, otherwise the finish will come off during handling.
The kit, paints, primer and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
