The Su-30SM is a two-seat twin-engined multirole combat airplane of Russian manufacture that comes from the Su-27 family. You will recognize it by the foreplanes ahead of the wing, the pair of vertical tails and the long forward fuselage with two seats one behind the other. The second crew member sits behind the pilot and higher; the airplane does not have side-by-side seats.
The set brings photo-etched metal parts in 1:72 scale. Photo-etched sheet is thinner by an order of magnitude than an injected plastic part, so edges, meshes and small panels look credible at this scale. The extent of the set and the position of the individual features are in the manufacturer's instructions, as is the information on which kit the parts are cut for.
Separate the features with a sharp blade on a hard surface, not by twisting, or the sheet will buckle. Make the bends over a bending tool or at least over a metal ruler, and the edge will then stay straight. Metal is glued with super glue, as cement for polystyrene does not hold on it. Degrease the surface before painting and apply a base coat, as without it paint holds poorly on smooth metal.
The set is an accessory to a kit. Paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
