Accessories for a model of the Soviet tank destroyer from the Black Dog brand. The exact make-up of the package is not stated here, because the name does not define it. The SU-85 was the Red Army direct answer to German tanks with thick frontal armor. It grew out of the proven T-34 chassis: an 85 mm gun was built into a low casemate without a rotating turret, and it hit targets at a range that contemporary Soviet tank guns could not reach. It reached the units from the second half of 1943 and served until the end of the war, even though it was gradually replaced by the more heavily armed SU-100. The vehicles were operated by independent tank destroyer units that the command moved wherever an armored attack was expected.
In a small scale the placing is what matters. Lay the stowage out the way a crew would really have lashed it down, that is, at the grab handles, on the fenders and at the rear, and leave free the places where people walked over the vehicle. The small parts are easier to paint before they are seated, and only then is the transition to the vehicle refined. Finally, a light hint of dust over the accessories and the model at once ties the whole together.
