The product is an accessory for a build, not a kit. It will be appreciated by the modeler who wants to give his Spitfire markings other than those from the box, or who needs to replace an older sheet that is no longer usable.
The Spitfire Mk.I was the first version of the type to go into series production. It was powered by a Rolls-Royce Merlin engine and at first glance it was characterized by the elliptical wing, which remained the recognition mark of the whole family. The Mk.II that followed differed chiefly in a stronger variant of the engine and in partial production changes. Both early versions differ from the later Spitfires in the shape of the canopy, the arrangement of the exhausts and the propeller, so the markings also match this older form of the aircraft.
A smooth gloss base is what decides. On matte paint a decal grips only at the edges, air gets under the carrier film and a milky haze forms around the motif that you can no longer get rid of. Spray a thin coat of gloss varnish over the finished camouflage, therefore, let it cure properly and only then do the decal work. The matte look comes back to the model only with the final varnish laid over the dried decals.
