On a single sheet DN Models supplies pre-cut sections for the hard-edged camouflage pattern of the modern Russian tank. The material is thin and flexible, so it can be laid without wrinkles even on the round barrel cover and on the curved fenders, where ordinary tape would crease.
The T-14 is a Russian tank built on the universal Armata chassis platform and it was first shown to the public in the middle of the last decade. It differs from the older Soviet types above all in its unmanned turret: the crew sit together in an armored capsule in the front of the hull, while the gun and the loading system are remotely operated. The unusual angular shapes of the turret and the side screens give the camouflage pattern quite a different character from that of the rounded older machines.
A tank is masked differently from an aircraft: the surface is broken up, full of hatches and grab handles, and the mask has to follow the steps and handrails too. It therefore pays to fit the mask before the finest accessories go onto the model. After spraying and lifting, the edges can be softened with a light dust filter so that the transition does not look too mechanical.
