Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet T-55 medium tank fitted with the BTU-55 bulldozer blade in 1:72 scale from Trumpeter. The model combines the hull and turret of the tank with the front earthmoving blade and offers rubber band tracks. The box contains a decal sheet and assembly instructions.
The T-55 appeared at the end of the 1950s as the culmination of the T-54 line. It became one of the most widespread tanks in the world and served in dozens of armies for many decades. The BTU-55 bulldozer blade was fitted to the nose of the tank and made it possible to dig shelters, prepare firing positions, clear obstacles or break through barriers. The tank thus handled engineer tasks on the battlefield alongside its combat role.
Assemble and paint the running gear before fitting the tracks. Mount the blade so that it sits square; the working edge of the blade can be brought out with scuffed metal and fresh mud. The base is Soviet green; a dark wash will deepen the grooves and a dry brush will pull out the edges and rivets. Apply mud and dust pigments to the belly of the hull, the tracks and above all the blade for a convincing patina of engineer service. In 1:72 scale choose the finer effects.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
