It is NOT a kit of an aircraft — it is a masking accessory and you have to have the model itself. The plugs are shaped for the bays of the Academy and Wolfpack kits in 1:72 scale; they do not fit a kit from another manufacturer or another scale.
A landing gear bay is a deep cavity that a modeler paints first. When the model is then sprayed from the outside, it has to be masked — otherwise the finished interior of the bay is ruined by overspray. Masking a deep irregular cavity with tape and cotton is a nuisance and does not seal properly anyway. A plug is a shaped part that fits exactly into the bay and seals it: it is put in, the model is sprayed and once the paint has dried the plug is taken out again. It also protects the bay during sanding and from dust.
The plugs are made of flexible foam. That is their main advantage: the foam compresses in the bay and seals itself, so it does not have to fit to hundredths of a millimeter like a hard 3D printed insert and it holds in the bay even without glue. Taking it out is then as easy as putting it in.
The T-6 Texan is an American single-engine propeller-driven trainer and one of the most widely used training machines in the history of aviation. The vast majority of Allied pilots of the Second World War passed through it, and in training and in other roles it served long afterwards, with a number of countries into the 1960s. The T-6G version is a postwar modernization of the machine. Precisely because it is a propeller-driven trainer and not a jet fighter, it also has different landing gear bays — the main gear retracts into the wing, so the bays have a different shape and a different position from those on jets. A plug from another set is of no use here.
This is not a kit. The package contains only landing gear bay plugs: the model, paints and glue are not part of it.
