About product

Douglas TA-4J Skyhawk 1:72, Zoom photo-etched set (Eduard)

This is a colored self-adhesive photo-etched set from the Zoom range, not an aircraft model. The pre-finished photo-etched parts concentrate on the cockpit: the instrument panels of both seats, the side panels and the seat belts. Thanks to the color printing and the self-adhesive layer they go on without painting. The scale is 1:72 and the set is made for plastic models of the TA-4J Skyhawk trainer version.

The real subject

The TA-4J was the two-seat trainer version of the proven Douglas A-4 Skyhawk light carrier-based attack aircraft. The lengthened fuselage with a tandem cockpit served for training US Navy pilots; the type stayed in training service for decades.

Usage tips

Lift the colored self-adhesive parts out of the fret and place them on the plastic with tweezers; a drop of cyanoacrylate glue can be added for safety. Bring out the recesses of the instruments and even both cockpits out with a matte overcoat.

Who the set is for

  • Modelers of carrier-based and training aircraft
  • Beginners and advanced builders alike, thanks to the self-adhesive colored parts
  • Those who want quick cockpit detail with no painting

This is an add-on set, not a model. The base kit, glue, paints and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
