A set of fine photo-etched metal parts from the Czech manufacturer Eduard, meant for refining the plastic kit of the British Hawker Tempest Mk.V fighter in 1:72 scale. It is neither a model nor a kit - it is an accessory that replaces or completes plastic parts with more true-to-life metal ones. Photo-etched parts thinner than plastic give the cockpit and the exterior surfaces depth and structure that injection-molded plastic cannot manage.
The Hawker Tempest Mk.V was a high-performance British fighter of the end of the Second World War. It was powered by the strong Napier Sabre engine and, thanks to its high speed at low altitude, proved itself as a hunter of piloted machines and of V-1 flying bombs alike and in strikes against ground targets. Its heavy armament of four 20 mm cannons made it one of the most effective British fighters of the closing stage of the war.
The finest parts belong in the interior before the fuselage is closed, while small exterior additions are glued onto the finished model. Cut the parts off with a sharp knife close to the fret and form the bends over the edge of a ruler or with a bending tool. Bond them with a tiny drop of super glue (cyanoacrylate). Because of their size the set is meant for advanced modelers - tweezers and a magnifier are worth having.
This is a detail accessory, not a model. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
