1:72 Tupolev TU-95MS Bear H EXPERT kabuki masks

Tupolev Tu-95MS Bear H - Expert kabuki masks 1:72 (New Ware)

This is NOT a model but a set of self-adhesive masking masks from New Ware for a plastic kit of the Soviet strategic bomber Tupolev Tu-95MS Bear H in 1:72 scale. The masks are cut from Japanese washi (kabuki) masking paper and leave a sharp boundary of color. The Expert version is the most extensive set: the glazing including the seals and masks for the inner side, the exterior and position lights and the wheels.

The real subject

The Tu-95 was a Soviet strategic bomber and missile carrier with swept wings and four turboprop engines with contra-rotating propellers, exceptional in both speed and range. The MS version was adapted to carry cruise missiles and remained in long service.

Use

• Application to the cockpit glazing before the frames are sprayed
• Masking of the wheels and other surfaces according to the enclosed instructions
• Sharp boundaries of color with nothing seeping under the mask
• The paper yields readily to the shape and lifts off easily once the paint is dry

Who it is for

For modelers building the Tu-95MS in 1:72 scale who want to handle the extensive glazing of this large bomber without laborious masking with tape. The most extensive Expert version will be appreciated by advanced builders.

A supplementary set of masks, not a model on its own. The kit and the paints are not included in the package.
