Type 94 Japanese tankette 1:72 from IBG Models is a plastic kit of the small Japanese reconnaissance tankette of the Second World War.
Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit depicts the Japanese Type 94 tankette, a small tracked vehicle used by the Japanese army in the Pacific at the start of the Second World War. The model offers fine detail in the popular small scale and suits collectors of armored vehicles as well as builders of smaller dioramas. Given the tiny parts, we recommend it to modelers with a little experience.
The Type 94 was based on the well-known British Carden-Loyd design and entered Japanese army service in the middle of the 1930s. It was originally meant to serve as a reconnaissance and liaison vehicle, but in practice it was also widely used to tow ammunition trailers and for direct infantry support. The small two-man tankette was lightly armored and weakly armed, yet it appeared in large numbers in the Pacific campaign.
Separate and clean up the small parts carefully, and assemble and paint the tracks and running gear before finishing the hull. Glue the plastic with a thin modeling cement. Apply a primer; earthy shades with stripes are typical of the Japanese finish, and the small scale will appreciate an airbrush. Bring out dust and mud on the running gear with pigments and washes.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
