An injection-molded plastic kit of the British Universal Carrier tracked carrier in the I Mk.II version in the mortar carrier form, in 1:72 scale from IBG. The package contains plastic parts and a decal sheet; the model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The Universal Carrier was a light open tracked carrier used in large numbers by British and Allied units in the Second World War. In the mortar carrier version the vehicle carried the mortar crew and the weapon of three-inch caliber and gave the infantry mobile fire support. The open hull allowed quick unloading and preparation to fire.
It is good to paint and weather the open inside of the hull before closing up the upper parts. Glue the running gear and the small pieces with thin cement for plastic. A realistic look will be helped by a base coat sprayed with an airbrush, emphasis of the detail with a wash and fine dust and mud effects with pigments.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
