A turned replacement for the barrel of the American 37 mm M6 gun in 1:72 scale, meant to go in place of the plastic part from the kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The 37 mm gun designated M6 was, according to the name of the item, the armament of a whole range of American tanks and armored cars. The barrel is slender and smooth, so in 1:72 scale every inaccuracy of shape shows on it. It is one of the few places on a small model where a single replaced part changes the overall impression.
A turned part has an exactly round section along its whole length and an open muzzle, that is two things that show at once on a small part. It also does away with cleaning up and straightening the plastic part from the kit. The part is made by turning, and that manufacturing method is what gives the round section and the open muzzle.
Cut the plastic barrel off with a sharp blade close to the gun mantlet and level the surface. It is better to pre-drill the hole for the new part with a fine drill and to try everything dry first: the barrel has to sit on the axis and level, because any misalignment shows on a thin part. Glue with a small drop of super glue; cement for polystyrene will not help here. Before painting, wash and degrease the part and start with a thin base coat, as paint otherwise will not hold on a smooth surface.
The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
