An injected plastic kit of the American M1240 M-ATV armored wheeled vehicle in 1:72 scale. It is a new mold by Trumpeter; the package contains, among other things, rubber tires and die-cut masks for the transparent parts. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The M-ATV (Mine Resistant Ambush Protected - All Terrain Vehicle) was developed by Oshkosh for the MRAP All Terrain Vehicle program. The vehicle was to provide protection against mines and improvised explosive devices comparable to that of the larger MRAP vehicles, but with markedly better cross-country mobility. The M-ATV replaced some of the armored Humvees (M1114), above all in the mountainous and off-road conditions of Afghanistan.
Clean the parts up carefully and use the masks for a clean finish on the glazing. Glue the plastic with liquid cement and bond the rubber tires with super glue. A primer, a uniform desert shade applied with an airbrush and light washes with pigments for dust weathering on the chassis and the wheels are recommended.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
