The Black Dog model brand offers a resin completion of the outside of the American heavy tank. The set reckons with a finished plastic model onto which the stowage and the gear are seated.
The Pershing was the American answer to the heavy German tanks. It reached Europe only in the last months of the war and in small numbers, yet it still managed to face Panthers and Tigers. It carried a 90 mm gun, had torsion bar suspension and considerably stronger frontal armor than the Sherman. After the war a whole family of machines grew out of it, leading as far as the M46 type. The real vehicles tended to be covered on the hull with boxes, drums, shelter halves and spare track links.
A combination gives the best result: seat part of the load on the engine deck, part at the rear and leave the rest loose on the fenders. Keep to the vertical axis of the vehicle so the result does not look crooked. Before gluing, wash the castings and remove the casting blocks. Resin will take only cyanoacrylate. Once painted, a dark wash helps to bring out the outlines of the individual pieces and to tell them apart from the hull. Leave the track links hung on the armor in a different metal tone so they do not merge with the hull.
