Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic set of ancient siege equipment in 1:72 scale from the maker Red Box. It contains a mobile protective shelter on wheels (a vinea) and a battering ram, that is, the devices with whose help attackers got through to the walls and gates. The set is meant to expand siege dioramas and wargaming scenes with ancient armies.
In antiquity the vinea was a mobile covered structure, a shelter on wheels that protected soldiers as they approached a wall or a gate. Under its protection they could undermine the wall, attack the gate or prepare the deployment of further siege engines. The battering ram then served to break through gates and weaker stretches of the fortifications and was often slung under just such a shelter.
Separate the small parts with a sharp knife and dry-fit them; on plastic use thin modeling cement. The wooden structures come into their own once painted in shades of brown, followed by a dark wash into the joints and a dry brush on the edges. Bring out the metal fittings and the ram with a darker steel color and light rust.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Paints, glue and the base are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
