The Ye-166 (E-166) masking set in the EXPERT grade, 1:72 scale from the New Ware brand is an accessory for the build, not a kit. Pre-cut self-adhesive masks will give the frames of the glazing a sharp edge that a brush by hand cannot hold.

This is not a model of the aircraft, but an accessory for the build: a set of pre-cut self-adhesive masks for a model of the Soviet experimental aircraft Ye-166 in 1:72 scale from the Czech brand New Ware. The masks are applied to the finished molded part, clear-coated along with the rest of the model and taken off once dry. The result is a clean boundary between frame and glass, which strokes of a brush cannot reliably repeat in this scale.
The manufacturer lists masks for the same aircraft in the graded versions BASIC, ADVANCED and EXPERT. The grade determines how wide an extent of masking you get, and it is the main figure by which otherwise identically named sets differ. This item is the highest grade, EXPERT. Choose according to how much work by hand you want to save yourself.
The first few seconds decide the most. First degrease the glazing, lift the mask off the sheet with the tip of a scalpel or with tweezers and lay it so that one edge lines up exactly with the frame; only then press it down across its whole face. Go over the edges with a toothpick or a wooden skewer, so that no air bubble stays under the mask — that is exactly where the paint runs under. The Ye-166 has a slim canopy with several straight frames, so it pays to proceed one pane at a time and keep checking whether the mask overhangs anywhere.
The package holds only the masks. The kit, paints and glue are not included in it.
