An elongated acrylic board 180 by 357 millimeters and 3 millimeters thick, weighing roughly 210 grams. The print represents the hard surface of a Japanese air base, the type 1 rendering.
Responsibility details are not available.
The base on the western edge of the Tokyo conurbation is among the best known overseas stations of the US Air Force, and since the middle of the twentieth century practically a whole parade of types has passed through it, from piston machines to today's transport and airlift aircraft. Its aprons therefore form the natural surroundings for an inexhaustible range of models, and it is just those the print on this board captures.
The size of 180 by 357 millimeters is deliberately narrow and long. Such a shape follows the axis of standing equipment, so an aircraft fits comfortably on it together with its landing gear and room is left for accessories along the fuselage. The board is of acrylic 3 millimeters thick and weighs around 210 grams, which means firmness without needless weight. The surface is smooth and easily cleaned, so no marks stay even after longer use.
The number in the name tells the individual renderings of the same subject apart. Variants with a different definition of the surface and with a different proportion of the sides thus exist side by side, which lets a modeler choose a board according to the piece of equipment he wants to stand on it. If you collect several machines from one base, the bases can be laid side by side to create a continuous apron with no need to build or paint anything. The board arrives entirely finished, so no more than a moment passes between unpacking and standing a model on it. No cutting, gluing or applying of paint awaits it.
