A set of figures in 1:72 scale: the driver of a Zetor 25 tractor and a village boy, for dioramas with civilian machinery.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Zetor 25 is a postwar Czech wheeled tractor that became a byword on farmyards and building sites alike and that, for many years, defined what a tractor looked like in these parts. Alongside the figure of the driver comes the figure of a village boy, exactly the scene that used to form around a machine on the village green.
The two figures the name gives: the tractor driver and the boy. In 1:72 scale an adult figure works out at just under two and a half centimeters, and the boy is proportionally smaller. On sets of this kind the posture is chosen so that the figures fit the machine and the surrounding scene; the exact poses and the extent of the set are stated in the manufacturer's instructions.
Cut any excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the figure and sand the remainder carefully so as not to damage the fine shapes. Wash and degrease the figures before painting, otherwise the paint holds badly on the surface. For small figures reach for super glue, which suits all the usual figure materials. Paint from the bottom upward and do not skimp on shading: at this scale the shape is lost until a darker tone in the folds and a lighter one on the raised areas brings it out.
The set suits anyone building a scene in a small scale who wants to bring it to life with people. Figures give a model both scale and a story: without a figure even a carefully built machine looks like an exhibit, while with a figure beside it, it becomes a scene. A pair of an adult and a child also suits a village or farmyard scene, where military figures would look out of place.
The tractor, paints and glue are not supplied with the set, unless stated otherwise.
