Responsibility details are not available.
A set of six mobile barriers from the Czech brand Hauler in 1:87 scale. It is not a model of a vehicle, but small scenic equipment: portable barriers of the kind put up around road closures and building sites, at cultural and sporting events or during police measures. Six pieces in one package are enough to form a continuous line or to spread around the scene one by one. The 1:87 scale matches HO gauge model railroading, so the set works on a model railroad layout just as well as in a display case diorama.
Mobile barriers are one of those unobtrusive elements that settle a scene into the present or the recent past at once. A closed street, a fenced-off excavation, a corridor at an entrance, a cordoned-off area around an accident: the barriers look entirely natural in all of these and they point the viewer where to look. On a model railroad layout they suit grade crossings, station forecourts and anywhere people and machines move at the same time.
Clean the flash off the parts and check that the barriers stand on a flat surface, otherwise the whole row will look crooked. Painting is simple and rewarding: a light base, a strong color on the frame according to the intended use, and reflective elements applied with the tip of a brush if you like. Light wear helps realism a great deal. Barriers get scuffed and dirty, so a dark wash in the joints and fine dust pigments at the feet are exactly what will tell them apart from fresh plastic. The finished pieces do not have to stand in a perfect row, a slight turn looks more natural.
The set is a diorama accessory, not a model of a vehicle. Glue, paints and a base are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
