Hauler 1:87 U.S. tank tools is a set of miniature tools of the kind carried on the outside of American armored vehicles, in a size matching the HO railway scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
This accessory aims at models of American armored vehicles in HO size. It replaces or supplements the tools that in such a small scale tend to be only suggested, or are missing from a model altogether. The dimensions match a reduction of 1:87, so the parts fit vehicles obtained as railway accessories as well.
The crews of American tanks had tools hung all over the outside of the vehicle. Shovels, pickaxes, axes, pry bars, jacks and tow cables were carried on the hull, the fenders and the sides of the turret; each type of vehicle had its own habit as to where what hung, and period photographs show that the brackets were often improvised. It is precisely these small things that give a model a legible scale and reveal that the vehicle went somewhere and worked somewhere.
Work over a light surface and with tweezers with fine tips, because pieces of this size like to spring away and are never found again. Once they are separated, attach them with cyanoacrylate glue in a thicker form, which will not run onto the surrounding surfaces. The painting can be managed with a size zero brush: the wooden handles in brown, the metal parts in dark gray, and a single pass with a dry brush will bring out the edges as well as the iron-shod ends.
The package contains the tools alone. The vehicle, glue and paints are not part of it.
