Responsibility details are not available.
A plaque 25 mm in size with the badge of the first French Spahi regiment. It is neither a kit nor a figure: it is a diorama accessory with which a modeler labels a finished scene, the base of a single vehicle or a shelf in a display case. The smaller size suits even vignettes with a single figure, where a larger plaque would overpower the view itself. Dynamo-Models has the same badge in a 40 mm size as well.
The Spahis are traditional French light cavalry whose regiments came about in North Africa and brought customs and a striking symbolism of their own into the French army. The first Spahi regiment went through both world wars; during the Second World War the Spahi units joined the fighting of the Free French forces and after being re-equipped served as reconnaissance and armored cavalry. The tradition continues to this day, with the regiment carrying out the duties of armored cavalry in the French army. The badge therefore suits dioramas from the Second World War as well as postwar and present-day vehicles.
You will bring out the fine lines of the badge by using a dark highlighting coat once the base color has dried and wiping off the surplus before it dries. Cover the areas of color step by step so that the design is not clogged. Settle the plaque on a flat surface with no varnish, otherwise the joint will come loose in time. When a scene is heading toward desert shades, choose a darker tone for the edge of the base, on which the plaque will stand out better.
