1 mm Rivet are small modeling rivets carried under the 1 mm size designation. They replace a rubbed-off or coarsely molded rivet detail on a model of a vehicle.

A set of small modeling rivets with the size designation 1 mm. It is not a kit or a finished model but an accessory for completing the surface detail on a plastic model of a vehicle.
Riveting is one of the most conspicuous marks of older vehicles and at the same time the detail a build most often damages. When sanding seams and filling, rows of rivets disappear and the surface is left dead. A separately fitted rivet has a properly domed head, casts a shadow of its own and at regular spacing looks truer than any decal or scratchbuilt substitute. The set also suits joints that a kit does not have at all.
First set the spacing out and prick it with a needle along a strip of masking tape, and the row will then stay straight. Drill with a micro drill in a hand holder, as an electric drill usually snaps a thin bit. Set the rivets in with tweezers or a dampened brush and glue them with a drop of cyanoacrylate glue applied on a pin, as excess will show under the paint as a glossy patch. Once it has cured, spray the surface with a primer. The detail comes out after a dark wash rounded out by a light drybrush on the tops of the heads.
This is an accessory for the build of a model, not a model on its own. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
