A conversion set in 1:72 scale: the Sd.Kfz.251 Ausf. D half-track carrier with the turret of a captured French Hotchkiss tank.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Sd.Kfz.251 was a German half-track armored personnel carrier of the Second World War, that is a vehicle with wheels at the front and tracks at the rear. The Ausf. D version is the late simplified one with a more angular rear, produced in greater numbers than the earlier variants. Captured vehicles were commonly modified by German units, and the turret of a French Hotchkiss tank seated on the hull of a carrier is just such a case: a transport vehicle became a vehicle with a rotating turret.
The set turns the base kit into this less usual modification. In a display case it brings a vehicle that catches the eye at once beside ordinary carriers, and in a diorama it serves well as evidence of what improvised vehicles looked like. The make-up of the parts and the recommended base kit are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the traces left by manufacture. Try the parts dry before gluing and even out any play by sanding the mating surfaces. Cyanoacrylate glue holds on resin and on plastic alike, so it will join the conversion parts to the kit. Wash and degrease everything before painting.
Paints, glue and other materials are not included, unless stated otherwise. The extent of the package is given in the manufacturer's parts list.
