33rd Waffen Grenadier Division Of The SS Charlemagne (Type I) Plaque 25mm is a diorama plaque 25 mm in size. The designation Type I tells this item apart from the second form of the same formation, which the brand carries separately.
Responsibility details are not available.
The plaque 25 mm in size belongs among the diorama accessories of Dynamo-Models and carries the emblem of the formation from the name. It is neither a model nor a figure, but a small element with which the base of a finished scene is labeled. The peculiarity of this item is the designation Type I: the brand carries two forms for the same formation, told apart in the name as Type I and Type II. Exactly how the two designs differ does not follow from the name, so choose according to the designation of the type you need.
The 33rd Waffen-Grenadier-Division der SS Charlemagne was raised at the beginning of 1945 from French volunteers who had previously served in other formations, and it carried the order designation of the French division within the Waffen-SS. In February and March 1945 it was committed in Pomerania, where it suffered heavy losses, and the remnants of the formation found themselves in Berlin in April 1945. A diorama with this plaque therefore falls at the end of the war, and the mixture of equipment the formation used matches it.
With a plaque carrying a fine badge it pays off to work under a magnifier and with good side lighting, which brings the relief out. We recommend finishing the base before you settle the accessory, because sanding around a finished plaque will clog the design with dust. A darker surrounding area helps legibility. If you decide on toning, reach for the thinnest paint possible and let it flow into the hollows, then wipe the surplus off the raised edges.
