An empty square bottle with a capacity of forty milliliters, intended for keeping thinners and cleaning fluids right beside the workbench.
Responsibility details are not available.
Thinner is used up drop by drop while building models, but it is bought by the deciliter. Decanting a smaller quantity into a separate bottle therefore makes sense twice over: the large container stays closed and does not evaporate, and you have to hand an amount that can be opened in the middle of a job without fear of tipping it over. Forty milliliters is enough for several flushes of an airbrush or for a long series of wet blends with a brush.
The square footprint is not decoration. A round bottle will roll away once the bench is tilted, whereas a square one stays standing, and noticeably more of them line up side by side in a drawer or a carrying case. A flat wall will also take a paper label, so you can write down the contents and not mistake a cleaning fluid for a paint binder.
Before you pour thinner into the bottle for the first time, it pays to rinse it out and let it dry. Fill it to about two thirds, so that room is left for the liquid to expand with heat, and keep it away from sources of heat and out of the reach of children. Anyone who mixes their own shades will appreciate it as a container for a mixed batch meant to last until the next session at the bench. It is also practical for a trip to a modeling competition or to a group build: a smaller quantity travels more safely than a liter bottle and, if it does get knocked over, does incomparably less damage to somebody else's table.
