This aftermarket accessory is not a whole model but a metal replacement barrel. It replaces the plastic barrel from the kit and gives a gun of 76.2 mm caliber a faithful, perfectly straight profile and a sharp muzzle end of the kind that is hard to achieve in injection-molded plastic.
A caliber of 76.2 mm with a length of 55 calibers (L/55) belongs among the powerful anti-tank and tank guns of the Second World War and the postwar era. The longer L/55 barrel meant a higher muzzle velocity and better penetration than the shorter guns of the same caliber. The exact version of the weapon and its carrier depend on the particular kit.
Exchange the plastic barrel for the metal one, clean up the mating surface and glue the barrel in with cyanoacrylate or epoxy. Take care to align the axis precisely. Degrease the metal before painting and go over it with a primer for the airbrush.
