Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the German Type XXIII coastal submarine in the large 1:144 scale from Trumpeter. This box is a separate form of the Type XXIII with a differently worked hull and a choice of several conning towers, so it allows a different configuration to be built than the basic boxing of the same type. The Type XXIII was a small submarine, so the finished model is compact. Check the exact contents of the box against the manufacturer's part number for this item.
The Type XXIII was a small German coastal submarine of the very end of the Second World War, belonging to the generation of the so-called electric boats (Elektroboot). It was optimized for running submerged and driven by powerful electric motors that gave it unusually high speed under water. It was a very small boat with limited armament and no way to reload its torpedoes, meant for operations in shallow coastal waters; it saw action only in the last weeks of the war. Individual boats differed in the details of the hull and the conning tower.
Glue the hull halves with a thin plastic cement and sand the seam on the smooth flank carefully. Fit the conning tower type you have chosen according to the boat you want to capture. Decide on a full hull build for the stand, or on a waterline one. Paint the underside with an antifouling color and the rest in Kriegsmarine grays. Add the periscopes and the fine deck detail at the end, and even the surface out with a matte coat.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
