Responsibility details are not available.
A large-format collector's figure in polyurethane resin, which the Italian brand Royal Model has placed in its line of 120 mm figures. The subject is not combat but a break: the soldier bends over his food, his hands occupied, his attention turned downward. It is exactly such genre scenes that give a large scale its point, because in it the expression, the fingers and the small creases of the cloth stand out, which would be lost in small figures.
The year 1943 meant a turning point for the German units in Russia: after Stalingrad and Kursk the campaign turned into a retreat. Supply was irregular, a hot meal an exception, and a moment at the kettle was among the few things that could calm crews and infantry for an instant. The uniforms of that time already carry the marks of winter, mud and improvisation, which is more attractive for a modeler than the parade equipment of the start of the war.
First wash the castings in lukewarm water with detergent, so that the remains of the mold release agent disappear. Cut the casting remains off with a fine saw and never break them off. Cyanoacrylate glue holds the joints; classic cement for polystyrene will not dissolve resin. After a thin primer it pays to start with the face: in the 120 mm format the expression carries the whole impression, and without shades of skin the figure looks dead.
The figure comes unassembled and unpainted; the package does not contain paints or glue.
