This injection-molded plastic kit in the large 1:32 scale from the manufacturer Trumpeter captures the Soviet jet fighter MiG-15bis. The bigger scale offers room for pronounced detail and an impressive size of the finished model in a display case. The box contains plastic parts, clear parts for the glazing and decals.
The MiG-15 was one of the first successful Soviet jet fighters and it became famous above all in the Korean War, where it clashed with Western jet opponents. The bis version was an improvement with a more powerful engine which bettered the performance at altitude. The machine had a distinctive swept wing and heavy cannon armament and became one of the most widespread fighters of its time, operated by a number of countries around the world.
A large scale tempts you to detail: finish and paint the cockpit and the landing gear bays before you close up the fuselage and make use of the room for careful work on the interior. Use a thin modeling cement on the plastic and glue the clear parts with a glue for canopies. Apply a primer before the airbrush. Metallic as well as colorful schemes show to good effect with the panel lines picked out by a fine wash and with restrained weathering of the exhaust and dust staining.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
