Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet supersonic fighter Mikoyan MiG-19PM in 1:32 scale from Trumpeter (NATO reporting name Farmer E). The model depicts the missile-armed PM version, in which the cannon armament was replaced by guided missiles. The large scale brings a detailed cockpit, twin engines, and an intricate surface. Check the exact package contents and decals against the manufacturer's part number for this item.
The MiG-19 was the first production Soviet fighter capable of exceeding the speed of sound in level flight. It was powered by two afterburning turbojet engines. The PM version was an interceptor fitted with radar and air-to-air guided missiles meant to destroy targets in low-visibility conditions; this modification dropped the cannon armament. The aircraft served from the second half of the 1950s, and derivative versions were also built under license outside the Soviet Union.
At the large 1:32 scale, finish the cockpit and both engines first, and only then close the fuselage. Glue the canopy glazing with canopy cement and protect it with masks. Glue the parts with liquid plastic cement and carefully sand down the seams. Apply gloss varnish before decals, and highlight panel lines with a wash. Fit the guided missiles and pylons only after painting. Glossy metal surfaces need a smooth surface and a thoroughly mixed metallic paint.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints, and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
