Injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet BA-20 light armored car in the Mod.1939 version, in 1:35 scale from Hobby Boss. The set contains a multi-part molded hull and turret with fine detail, photo-etched parts and rubber tires. It is a compact model of a classic prewar Soviet armored car.
The BA-20 was a Soviet light armored car developed in the mid-1930s on the chassis of the GAZ-M1 passenger car. It served above all with staffs and with reconnaissance and signals units. The Mod.1939 version received a new conical turret and further changes. The vehicle had thin armor and carried a machine gun in the turret as its armament. It was used in the conflicts of the late 1930s and in the opening phases of the Second World War, where it served mainly for reconnaissance and liaison.
Glue the parts with thin modeling cement for plastic; attach the fine photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue. Fit the rubber tires only after the hull has been painted. Lay down a primer and spray a uniform Soviet green with an airbrush. Bring out the panel joints and the rivets with a wash, and put pigments on the chassis and the lower part of the hull for the dust and mud effects typical of reconnaissance vehicles.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
