It is a model of the locomotive itself, with a well-worked boiler, running gear and driver's cab. The unusually large 1:35 scale makes the model a rewarding subject for a railway and military diorama, where it forms an impressive centerpiece.
Class 86 (Baureihe 86) was a German general-purpose tank locomotive designed for the more demanding branch lines in hilly and mountainous country. It was a tank engine, which carries its coal and water supplies on the locomotive frame itself, without a separate tender. It was built from the second half of the 1920s and, with a total of several hundred machines, it was one of the most numerous and longest-produced German classes. During the Second World War it served, among other things, as a reliable link in military railway logistics.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife and bond them with liquid cement for plastic. Assemble and clean up the running gear, the wheelsets and the rods before you close the frame, while the parts are still easy to reach. Apply a primer before painting and spray the period livery with an airbrush in thin coats. Rust and deposits of coal dust will give the locomotive a realistic look — work with a panel wash in the recesses and with pigments for rust, soot and dust around the running gear, the boiler and the cab.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
